Six little rabbits down by the lake, munching on carrots and chocolate cake”, but all of sudden they hear an unexpected PLOP noise which creates chaos amongst the animals in the woods. The Terrible Plop is an easy and fun book to read coupled with clever illustrations and lots of humour, supporting early literacy development in young children.

It has a strong use of rhyme and rhythm and the repetition throughout makes it easy to read aloud and encourages children to join in.

The bright and colourful pictures capture the reader’s attention, supporting their understanding and comprehension of the story. The illustrations are expressive, showing different emotions. This creates opportunities for conversations about feelings, fear and bravery.
