How Frogmouth found her home by Ambelin Kwaymullina
We will be celebrating National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day during Online Storytime.
Unlike the other birds, Frogmouth did not want to live in trees, so instead, she crossed the land in search of a place to call home. On the way, she meets many animals, kindly helping them find a home of their own until finally she finds her own place where she feels most comfortable.
How Frogmouth found her home is a wonderfully written picture book exploring the theme of belonging and identity. The book uses simple and clear language, introducing new words in a way that is easy to understand.
The bright coloured pictures depict animals and bushland, with text that matches the images, helping children connect written words to the illustrations. This helps children make meaning to written words, it builds on new vocabulary and encourages comprehension.
- Check your email, including your junk folder, for the Zoom link once registered. (We require you to register via Trybooking so that this free Start Strong program is accessible to everyone.)
- To protect the privacy of all participants, recording of Storytime is not permitted.
